Choosing Healthy Alternatives – Recovery and Treatment
(CHART) was created to give persons charged with certain felonies an opportunity
to address their addictions to drugs and alcohol. By choosing CHART,
participants are being given a chance to rebuild their life. By successfully
completing the CHART program, participants have their felony charge dismissed.
The primary purpose of the Snohomish County Drug
Treatment Court program is to provide intervention and treatment for offenders
referred by the criminal justice system who want to make positive life changes
and break their cycle of addiction. Participants meet other people who know what
it feels like to be chemically dependant and learn the skills needed for a
drug-free lifestyle.
Participant Eligibility:

Charged
in Snohomish County with a drug related felony
-
No
indication of a commercial operation in the charged offense
-
No
more than five prior felony convictions not counting VUSCA possession
-
Strong
desire to address and overcome their addiction
-
Treatment
evaluation that identifies appropriate candidates
Ineligible offenses:
-
Violent
crimes
-
Sexual
offenses
-
Unresolved
felony charges
Graduation Requirements:
-
Successfully complete chemical dependency
treatment
-
Remain clean and sober as demonstrated through
drug
testing
-
Employed and have a plan for ongoing recovery
and relapse prevention
Graduation from the program is cause for celebration!
Family and friends are invited to attend the graduation ceremony, which honors
the participants successful completion of the program and their accomplishment
of achieving a drug and alcohol-free life.
