Since the last newsletter we have submitted and subsequently revised our year 2000 initiatives and budgets. We have a total of seven law enforcement initiatives, one intelligence initiative, one administrative and coordinating initiative and four prevention/treatment initiatives. Our budget level for year 2000 is $4 million.

Our annual report was also submitted to ONDCP during this past quarter that covered accomplishments of the HIDTA for calendar year 1998. Our next annual report is due mid April of year 2000 for calendar year 1999 accomplishments. With all of the additional initiatives ongoing this year we should have quite a lot to report. A major part of the annual report and threat assessment is the drug survey questionnaire that was forwarded to HIDTA participants recently. Please respond as soon as possible as this provides us with the most accurate assessment of drug trafficking organizations operating throughout the NW HIDTA. I continue to do numerous presentations throughout the HIDTA area and will be facilitating on a countywide basis throughout the HIDTA area, meetings with Chiefs of Police, drug task forces, HIDTA prevention programs and drug courts on issues of mutual concern.
