  • Thurston County Narcotics Task Force is seeking any information that would assist in locating and apprehending a major drug trafficking suspect, Omar Gutierrez, DOB: 05-10-64. Any agency having information should contact a task force representative at (360) 786-0572.

  • Thurston County Narcotics Task Force busted a large sophisticated hydroponic marijuana grow inside the city limits of Olympia. Over 2000 marijuana plants were seized and 6 persons were later indicted.

  • DEA Tacoma Regional Task Force arrested a methamphetamine clandestine lab operator with 2 prior meth arrests in a buy/bust in February. Two pounds of methamphetamine were seized and three additional suspects were arrested.

  • DEA Tacoma Regional adopted a case from Pierce County Sheriff’s Office following an arrest of one defendant. According to the State Patrol crime lab from analysis conducted on confiscated evidence, the production capacity of the lab was 40 pounds and it was the largest lithium/anhydrous ammonia lab ever seen in the state.

  • DEA Tacoma Regional Task Force, on February 1st, arrested four suspects involved in methamphetamine distribution. 4.3 pounds of meth and 45 pounds of pseudoephedrine were confiscated.

  • The Northern Border Task Force reported between February 9 and March 6, 2000, there were eight maritime seizures of marijuana in the marine waters south of the Canadian/US Border. Eight vessels, 516 pounds of marijuana (local value of $1,548,000), and $185,000 were seized. There were 13 arrests. Five of the cases will be prosecuted federally and three will be prosecuted by the state. As prior such seizures have only been sporadic, this trend could be the result of increased point of entry enforcement.

  • On January 15, 2000, the L.E.A.D. Narcotics Task Force arrested a suspect for the delivery of 1 and ½ pounds of methamphetamine to an undercover officer.

  • L.E.A.D. Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant on February 17, 2000, and seized one and ¾ kilograms of cocaine, $29,000 in cash, 3 vehicles, a boat and later the residence. Arrest warrants have been obtained.

  • L.E.A.D. Narcotics Task Force on February 24, 2000 arrested a suspect for the delivery of one pound of methamphetamine. A follow up search warrant resulted in the discovery of the remnants of a clandestine laboratory. 12 weapons, including a Mack 10, were also found.

  • On March 13, 2000, the HIDTA Integrated Task Force along with ATF & the King County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect in a residential area of Bothell where 127 marijuana plants were seized. Over 60 assorted firearms including machine guns and weapons with silencers were seized along with 50,000 rounds of ammunition.
