Administrators Award for Outstanding Group Achievement | July 2000 |

The DEA Tacoma Regional Task Force received the DEA Administrator's Award for Outstanding Group Achievement for its performance from January 1999 to January 2000. The award cited the strong working relationship and spirit of cooperation created between the Tacoma office and participating local Departments, the Washington State Patrol and Tribal Police. The group initiated 55 investigations and arrested 90 defendants. They seized in excess of 35 pounds of methamphetamine, 40.5 pounds of heroin, 10,000 dosage units of LSD, multiple pounds of crack and powdered cocaine and 80 pounds of Pseudoephedrine. Currency and assets of $210,000 were also seized. Personnel at the group established a methamphetamine awareness program for the tribal police and currently participates in a community outreach program by making presentations to law enforcement explorer groups.
