In late April, DEA Tacoma Regional Task Force made an arrest following the seizure of
4800 dosage units of LSD and one pound of marijuana from a suspect. The suspect cooperated
and a follow up investigation led to the further seizure of 12,000 more dosage units of
LSD and $12,000 in cash from another suspect.
DEA Tacoma Regional Task Force also worked with Oregon authorities in surveilling
Methamphetamine suspects from Oregon into Washington. The surveillance resulted in the
take down of a Meth Lab where 20 cases of Pseudoephedrine, 20 gallons of iodine, 27
gallons of denatured alcohol, 4 gallons of acetone, 6 gallons of Coleman fuel, 5 pounds of
extracted ephedrine, 2 bags of red phosphorous and 20 pounds of MSM were discovered.
L.E.A.D. Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant on May 12, 2000, in Wapato.
There was one arrest, two handguns and one rifle, along with 3 ounces of cocaine, 3 ounces
of Meth and $11,800 in cash seized as a result.
L.E.A.D. Narcotics Task Force concluded an investigation on June 16, 2000, that was
worked with the FBI and the Columbia River Narcotics Task Force that resulted in the
seizure of 29 1/2 lbs. of Meth, 5 lbs., of heroin and ½ lb. of cocaine. Ten suspects were
charged with at least 3 others likely to have charges made against them. Three handguns, 3
vehicles and $1200 were also seized.
On May 19, 2000, the Snohomish Regional Narcotics Task Force, along with DEA and local
law enforcement officers, served four federal search warrants resulting in five arrests.
Over 1100 marijuana plants, two limousines, several Mercedes Benz and other vehicles,
$230,000.00 in cash and three pieces of property were seized during the searches.
The Snohomish Regional Narcotics Task Force, along with US Customs,
served five warrants on May 27, 2000, that resulted in the arrest of three males now
facing charges of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute in excess of 100
kilos of marijuana. Over $930,000 in cash was confiscated, 110 pounds of marijuana and 7
weapons were also seized.
Thurston County Narcotics Task Force arrested 2 Mexican Nationals for
delivery of 3 lbs. of Meth and 1 lb. of black tar heroin. During the 2nd
quarter of the year, the task force also charged 2 cases of Child Endangerment stemming
from investigations in which children were discovered at Methamphetamine laboratory
locations.
Eastside Narcotics Task Force and DEA were involved in an
investigation during the latter part of March where they bought or seized 9 pounds of Meth
and 2 kilos of cocaine.
