On June 15th we submitted the 2001 Strategy,
Initiatives and budgets to ONDCP for their review. Thanks to all who participated in the
budget process this year. The priorities that the Executive Committee has established are
reflected throughout the submission. If you are interested in obtaining a copy of the
Threat Assessment, Strategy or Annual Report, please contact Rosemary or myself at
206.352.3605. In September of this year the NW HIDTA hopes to begin the Internal Audit and Self Review Program required by ONDCP. This review provides a scheduled opportunity for me and the Executive Committee to examine all aspects of the program. The review will look at such issues as effectiveness in mission accomplishment, efficiency and accountability in the use of resources, and compliance with HIDTA requirements and program guidance. Scheduling and assignments will be worked out with the Law Enforcement Advisory committee. Each HIDTA Task Force or subgroup will be advised in advance when their program will be reviewed.
