Recently, the Snohomish Task Force submitted a routine subject inquiry to the NW HIDTA. This created a “Dissemination Report” which highlighted the subject’s name as having been arrested by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) in April 1998 for possession of cocaine.

The subject had also been named twice as a target in Critical Events phoned in by the Everett Police Department. The downloading of this information made possible a more complete report to Snohomish of the subject’s continuing criminal history pattern.

The CHP was contacted and advised that the subject was now operating in the Snohomish County area and has continued to possess or sell cocaine. This highlights how the use of the WSIN system through the NW HIDTA works, if data is routinely entered on a timely basis. Had the CHP not entered their information we would have been unaware of the subject’s earlier criminal history, and would not have been able to advise the CHP of the subject’s current whereabouts should there have been any outstanding felony warrants against the subject.
