Dr. Jason Kilmer, a research assistant professor and assistant director of health/wellness at University of Washington, makes a compelling presentation on the effects of marijuana in a recent session on the topic presented by Educational Service District 113 in Tumwater, Washington. Dr. Kilmer is a clinical pyschologist who has been active in campus outreach activities related to alcohol and substance abuse issues and has in recent years been a sought-after speaker at conferences across the United States. "... as recently as this past summer, the FDA ruled that raw marijuana—which contains hundreds of unknown components—did not meet its general standards of safety and efficacy. And the drug failed an exhaustive eight-factor scientific analysis that examined hundreds of studies on the plant's health effects." - Dr. Kevin A. Sabet, writing his reaction in The Fix.

Facts about marijuana
A new two-page fact sheet prepared by NW HIDTA examines use and addiction, health, treatment, impaired driving and other aspects of marijuana use and its impacts on the state of Washington. The fact sheet cites numerous studies and articles as source material. For instance, did you know that while 23 percent of Washington school students who do not use marijuana score Cs, Ds and Fs on grade reports, 51 perecent of those who use pot received mostly Cs, Ds and Fs?
